Shake A Leg
- Review by Pistol Pete
The Norfolk rockers return with album no 3 - Shake a leg . Having recorded 2 albums and an EP and toured heavily over the last few years, received great reaction from their Chris Kimsey remixed single 99% and the duet with Mollie Marriot , getting a lot of airplay on Planet Rock, and being one of the early flag bearers of the NWOCR ( new wave of classic Rock) the Band signed to Marshall Records So where do we find the band now ? The album opens with straight ahead rocker Lift Your Head Up then into the southern tinged song When The Hammer Falls - having seen this played live it’s a great addition to the set and will become a fan favourite. Next up the punchy Too Many Times followed by rhythmic Dressed To Kill. The first single from the album comes in the shape of a homage to Duane Allman , Skyman is a real road song, with a great chorus - fist pumping stuff . Things slow down for I Belong - you can smell the magnolias and that laid back Southern life style . A big moment on the album ! Show Me, Tussle, and What It Means are rockers that Bad Touch do so well ! Believe In Me is a great ballad sung with real soul by Stevie Westwood . Imho the best tracks are left to last !! Slow Tempest real acoustic driven southern Soul - a great change of direction that leads into Bury Me ! To sum up - Shake a leg is a real step up and should hopefully propel the band onto bigger and better things! Highly recommended!
