Hannah's TOP TRACK

Conor Oberst’s “A Little Uncanny” was released on his October 2016 album Ruminations.  The main reason I picked this tune as my top track of the week was that it combines the psychedelic blues guitar playing of Jimi Hendrix with the folksy harmonica styling of Bob Dylan.  The two opposing styles don’t quite seem like they should mesh well, but Oberst manages to make it work, and not only does it work—it really works.  The result is a lyrical and musical masterpiece that muddles two classic genres while still managing to know exactly what it wants to be.
