The Parsons Nose, Melksham

- Review by The Hgan

I can highly recommend this fantastic metal band "Severance" (Severance UK) which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. The individual band members, (all excellent musicians in their own right), have been playing together for so long, that they just gel together in sound and on the stage in the most extraordinary way (although between you and me, I have a sneaking suspicion that some of that "gelling" could be sweat-related! This band work HARD on stage! I was exhausted just watching them)! Playing a combination of covers and their own original music, a novice to heavy metal would struggle to identify the difference between their covers of world-reknowned masterpieces and their own originals. Their set was a series of seamless transitions from one to another. As a live band, their experience playing together really shines through, in their musical skills, their stagecraft and their crowd interaction. The Melksham venue where I saw them was heaving and the crowd (of all ages) were really going for it! If you get the chance to go and see this band, (especially during their 30 year anniversary shows this year), take it! You'll be sure to regret it if you don't! This was my first time seeing this band and I have already booked my next trip to see them at the end of November 2018! I can't wait! This band are one in a million. Check them out at https://www.facebook.com/severanceuk or look for their website online. You won't be disappointed!
